Give someone a special gift this Christmas that supports the fight against gender based violence among displaced and migrant women populations.
Make a contribution to the Dympna Meaney Women’s Leadership Fund which exists to support women leaders in Africa, Asia and Central & South America working at grassroots level.
As the Christmas season approaches and brings with it the tradition of gift giving, many Comhlámh members look for ways of giving a gift that reflects their commitment to social justice, human rights and global development issues.
Dympna Meaney was a Comhlámh member and a global solidarity activist whose work was infused by passion for equality and social justice. Her untimely death on 10 December 1991 in a cycle accident in Dublin robbed us of a great champion in the fight for gender equality and human rights. Through the Dympna Meaney Women’s Leadership Development Fund we, friends and former colleagues, aim to ensure Dympna’s vision for justice and solidarity lives on.
The Fund exists to connect women leaders from the global south with skills building opportunities which will strengthen their contribution to global human rights. The Fund specifically supports women leaders who support displaced and migrant women working to eradicate gender based violence.
Since its establishment in 2014 the Fund has supported over 15 individuals and groups from all parts of the global south to avail of leadership development opportunities. You can DONATE now to the Dympna Meaney Women’s Leadership Development Fund below.
