At the beginning of the month, Comhlámh had the joy of hosting our French partners, La Guilde over a three day visit. We welcomed, not one, not two, but three, La Guilde colleagues, Jean-Christophe, Marie and Jorge from the organisation who lead our #EV4U project working with partner organisations from the EU and the global south on good practice standards as part of the #EUAidInitiative.
It was an opportunity to take stock of what we have done so far in the project and plan the activities, which will continue up until the end of 2018. As their visit coincided with the Irish Aid Fair they got the opportunity to meet with the range of Volunteer Sending Agencies that operate in Ireland sending volunteers to the global south in various capacities and projects.

Along with partners #SUAS, we organised a joint information session on the EU Aid Volunteer Initiative so that potential future volunteers could find out about volunteering in humanitarian aid, explore their motivations and ask questions directly to La Guilde who have sent EU Aid Volunteers to Haiti and Ecuador or Comhlámh and Suas about their involvement also.
The visit wasn’t all volunteer talk and engagement and we even managed to squeeze a visit to Trinity and the Book of Kells!

Thanks to La Guilde for making the journey and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
