Grainne O’Neill from Comhlámh writes about the new Erasmus+ project that Comhlámh are involved in, which will last for 32 months.
Comhlámh, along with 3 other volunteering organisations – Volunteering Matters (UK); INEX-SDA (Czech Republic); and finep (Germany) are delighted to share the news that we have been successful in an 32-month Erasmus + project which will bring together partners from each the 4 countries to support international volunteers into active citizenship. The project will generate resources on active citizenship, including research and training manuals for returned volunteers, as well as training opportunities for volunteers and volunteer sending agency representatives, and shared learning events to disseminate the good practice realised and practised as a result of the collaboration.
The opportunity of having a strong European dimension will further deepen an understanding of global citizenship for returning volunteers, and co-learning alongside peers from neighbouring European countries will hopefully set the conversation and resulting action on active citizenship at a European level.
We are very excited about the project going forward, and will keep you informed of any updates and training opportunities. Watch this space for opportunities, outcomes and the sharing of learning from this initiative – Volunteering for the Future!
