This course will be run over 4 weeks on a modular basis of 2.5 hours per session. Participants can attend all sessions or those sessions of interest. It’s open to agencies that have signed up to our Code of Good Practice.
What is covered?
* Week 1: March 25th: Exploring Pre-departure and the role of the Volunteer
* Week 2: April 1st: Intercultural Living and Learning
* Week 3: April 8th: Images, messages and social media
* Week 4:April 15th: Child protection
What does the course achieve? Firstly it sets out to raise awareness of Comhlámh’s approach to training and facilitation. It aims for a familiarization of the content and ethos of Comhlámh’s pre-departure training.
It looks at the delivery of activities to use in pre-departure training. There is also an element of reflection on content, activities and facilitation styles.

The volunteer sending organisations who are signatory to Comhlámh’s Code of Good Practice
