Want to learn about global development while developing group facilitation skills? Well, we have a few last minute openings for this Skills in Dev Ed course will help you do just that. Sign ups are open now. The course runs from the 20th of up to Tuesday 3rd March.
Skills in Development Education is a participatory course, comprising of eight evening modules and a one day practical workshop, with the aim to equip participants with the skills and methodologies to work effectively with groups on global development and social justice issues in a friendly, informal environment.
At the end of the course, participants will be prepared to facilitate at training days and development education workshops.
Who is it for?
This course is aimed at returned volunteers (from any organisation) who are either students, staff or graduates of UCD as well as youth and community workers, teachers, and those working in group settings. Participants should have some level of knowledge of global issues or experience of living, working or volunteering in the Global South but facilitation experience is not required.
Where & When?
The course will take place in the UCD Global Lounge.
6:00pm to 8.30pm on Tuesday evenings starting on the 20th January and running up to Tuesday 3rd March. There will be one final evening workshop on Tuesday 24th March and a full day workshop on Saturday 28th March.
Total Fee: €15.00 non-refundable [payable in cash only on the first night]
The course is organised by UCD Volunteers Overseas in partnership with Comhlámh.
