Roisin Boyle, Comhlámh’s Education and Training Officer introduces our new Volunteer Charter;

The Volunteer Charter has recently been revised, updated and uploaded to the Comhlámh website. Comhlámh is very grateful to members of the Options and Issues Group for their instrumental role in directing changes to the Volunteer Charter with valuable insights, comments and inputs. The major objectives to the changes included simplifying the seven principles encouraging good practice in volunteering for global development and directing towards actions that should be undertaken. The new graphical representation of the principles was designed to help understand the correlations between the principles, emphasising the focus on commitment to responsible and responsive volunteering. Links to new resources were also added.

I believe that the updated version has become a better resource for current and prospective volunteers. I will be looking forward to any feedback that may lead to further improvements. Printed copies are now available and can be ordered by contacting Róisín at roisin@comhlamh.org
