We had great fun here in Comhlámh last Friday night where we kicked off our member’s social space Comhlámh Afterhours.
It is a social gathering for members to meet up and chat. What it entails is entirely up to the members. We would like to thank Grace Mc Clean for her inspiration and allowing us to take her idea on board and have a space where returned development workers and volunteers can meet up and chat and share.
Thanks to Nahid Dabiri and Don Lucey also who were part of the planning for the launch event. In these times a space like this where the members can gather and discuss important issues is something Comhlámh is very proud to be bringing back.
If you are a member and would be interested in sharing ideas and to be part of the planning team for the monthly meet up please don’t be shy.
Finally a big Thank you to our guest speakers Mosten Mutale and Micheal Chanda. I think all who came where entertained and inspired by these two wonderful guys.
Check out our photos on Facebook of the night and also the wonderful poem those who attended came up with under the watchful and inspiring eye of Mosten Mutale our Zambian poet.
From Uganda, Kenya, Sudan South Africa,
Across the Atlantic to Brazil,
And North to the streets of Brooklyn,
No matter if you lived worked or played,
Humanity, beauty and innocence follow us wherever we go.
Live on live on.
Colours laughter music
Enjoying the company of friends
pottery from Peru to Italy with love
the beat of the feet on the street
Live on live on
The whole world seemed a nicer place over a cinnamon bun
I truly experienced nature
I feel a lot at home
I let go of a lot I knew
Can’t wait to go back
Live on live on
